Vancouver, B.C. – The Vancouver Giants would like to congratulate veteran forward Thomas Foster on being included on the Edmonton Oilers’ roster for their 2016 Rookie Camp which includes the 2016 Young Stars Classic Tournament in Penticton. The camp runs from September 15-21.
Foster joins Giants teammate Tyler Benson on Edmonton’s roster. Benson was drafted in the second round by the Oilers in the 2016 NHL Draft.
“Everyone around the Giants has watched Thomas develop over the last five years,” said General Manager Glen Hanlon. “We’re happy for him to have an opportunity to put on the sweater of a team from his home province.”
Foster, who hails from Slave Lake, Alberta, was drafted by the G-Men in the first round of the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft at 20th overall. The 20-year-old centreman has played for the Giants for four seasons, scorings 98 points in 221 career WHL regular season games.
The Giants will be in action on Friday night when they visit the Okanagan to take on the Kelowna Rockets. Puck drop is set for 7:05pm.
