The Portland Winterhawks are proud to announce that Director of Player Personnel Eric Doyle is leaving the organization to join the New York Rangers as a scout.

Doyle was promoted to Director of Player Personnel in 2014 after spending time as a scout for the Hawks. Prior to starting his front office career, Doyle played five seasons in the WHL with the Everett Silvertips, Swift Current Broncos and Winterhawks, acquiring him midway through the 2009-10 season as a 20-year-old overager.

“Eric has been a great asset to our scouting staff, and we’re excited he has an opportunity to advance his career in the NHL with the New York Rangers,” said Winterhawks Vice President, General Manager & Head Coach Mike Johnston. “Just as it’s our goal to develop players for professional hockey, it’s gratifying to see our staff members make it as well. We wish Eric the best with the Rangers.”
