The Prince George Cougars defeated the Kelowna Rockets 3-0 on Saturday night, winning both games of a weekend double-header and three in a row against Kelowna.
Nick McBride recorded the shut-out for the Cougars, stopping all 29 shots he faced while Brodan Salmond played strong in the Kelowna net, but allowed three goals on 28 shots in taking the loss.
Kelowna fell to 1-4-0-0 to start the season. The Rockets were 0/5 on the powerplay while holding the Cougars to 1/6 with the man advantage.
Kelowna outshot Prince George 29-28 in the game.
The Rockets head to Alberta to face the Lethbridge Hurricane on Friday for the first of three stops in the province before returning home to face the Saskatoon Blades on Friday October 14th.
