Spartans take top spot at queen’s invitational after win over UNB


KINGSTON, Ontario – Trinity Western earned its third win in as many days at the Queen’s Invitational, taking the tournament title after beating New Brunswick 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-7) Sunday.


The Spartans finished off their dominant showing at the Queen’s Invitational with their third straight 3-0 victory defeating the Varsity Reds in convincing fashion.


Sophie Carpentier (Ottawa) led the way for the Spartans finishing with 12 kills, nine digs and an ace.


The Spartans ran the table over their three games never losing a single set. Their final set of the weekend, a 25-7 clinching mark, was their best margin of victory over the three days.


Earlier in the tournament, TWU beat Queen’s and McGill.


TWU will now prepare to play RMC Monday at 5 p.m. (ET).
