Prince George Cougars ranked first in CHL Top 10

Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced the week three edition of the CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2016-17 season. The weekly rankings of the CHL’s Top-10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.

After a 6-0-0-0 start to the 2016-17 Western Hockey League season, the Prince George Cougars are atop the CHL Top 10. This marks the Cougars’ second week on the charts after being ranked eighth in Week 2. The Cougars defeated the Kelowna Rockets in back-to-back outings on home ice this past weekend, pouncing to the top of the CHL Top 10.

The Brandon Wheat Kings remain in the CHL Top 10 for a third consecutive week, though slide from the second slot down to sixth.

After being an honourable mention in the Week 2 rankings, the Regina Pats shoot into the CHL Top 10, sitting eighth in Week 3.

The Everett Silvertips also earn recognition with an honourable mention after starting the season without a regulation loss through four contests.
