The Victoria Cougars (6-3-0-1) host the Kerry Park Islanders (6-4-0-0) this Thursday.

Game time at the Archie Browning Sports Centre, located at 1151 Esquimalt Road, is 7:00 p.m.

Thursday marks the start of a three games in three nights stretch for Victoria who will see stops in Saanich and Oceanside.

The Cougars look to halt a two-game losing streak following their 4-3 collapse to the Westshore Wolves and 2-1 setback to the South Island Division leading Braves this past week.

Jordan Passmore scored the lone goal on Thursday for Victoria who lost for the first time on home ice.

After suffering a 3-1 loss to the Cougars three weeks ago, Kerry Park has since been on a roll.  The Islanders enter Thursday’s contest winners of three of their past five games.

Kerry Park beat the Braves 4-2 and then the Peninsula Panthers 5-2 this past week to extend their win streak to two games.

Only four points separate the third-place Islanders from first place in the South Island Division standings.

On Friday, the Cougars will travel to Saanich for the fourth of eight meetings this season.

Victoria won the first two games by scores of 4-1 and 2-1.

Nick Guerra, who leads the VIJHL in scoring with 26 points, has so far been limited to scoring only one goal versus the Cougars.

Victoria will wrap up the weekend with a Saturday night tilt against the upstart Generals.

Despite having won only three games all season, five of Oceanside’s losses have come by a margin of two goals or less.

The Generals split their games this past week, walloping Peninsula 11-2 before dropping a 2-1 decision to the Comox Valley Glacier Kings.

Ethan Sundstrum leads all Oceanside scorers with six goals and five assists for 11 points.

Elsewhere in the VIJHL, the Saanich Braves travel to Nanaimo to take on the Buccaneers at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
