The Surrey Beavers AA will be hosting the 5th Annual Ruck for a Cure day on Saturday, October 22.
That day Sullivan Heights will be full of rugby action and have a showcase game with the club’s 1st division players wearing breast cancer awareness themed jerseys. Each jersey in the set was sponsored by a generous individual and or business that helped make this day possible. There will be a BBQ set up to keep the fans satisfied while they enjoy watching the Surrey Beavers men and women play.
After the 1st division game is played the jerseys will be washed and then auctioned off that evening at the clubhouse in a live auction. There will be plenty of complimentary food back at the Beaverlodge where plenty of raffle prizes and silent auction items will be available to take home. The main event will be the live auction that will see jerseys 1 to 22 auctioned off to the highest bidder. All proceeds from the day will go towards the Canadian Cancer Society and to a local family impacted by cancer. There will be Canadian Cancer Society volunteers on hand to take donation payments via point of sale machine. Cash and or check are perfectly fine too, also day of donation payments are not required for larger amounts.
In the last 4 years the club has raised over $65,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society and a local family in need, and the club hopes this will be their biggest event to date!
