Tough Weekend For Rams Football

357

This past Friday produced a nice win 40 to 26 for JV Team versus New West, but the bad news was the loss of Gideone Kremler in that game.  In the following game, the Varsity Rams suffered their first loss of the season.

Varsity Game Summary

The Rams faced some adversity Friday night but put forth a strong first half performance and held a slim 13 to 9 lead.  However, the second half was a different story as New West dominated in the 3rd quarter en route to a 45 to 19 victory.  Losing is part of the process for improving and the Varsity team will re-group, work to improve and make all necessary adjustments.  Grade 10 quarterback Dante Carbone played very well and threw for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns, both to Josh Lucas.  Josh was terrific in the game hauling in 10 receptions for 144 yards plus had an outstanding 97 yard kick off return.  On the defensive side of the ball, Jake Ounsted and Isaiah Cardilicchia led the Rams in tackles with 7 each, followed by Quinn Jenish, Tyrese Hogue, Spencer Meldrum and Soren Hallschmid with 6 each.

The Varsity Rams now turn their focus to a very tough South Delta team, who lost a close 1 point game to Vancouver College this past Saturday.   The Rams host the Sun Devils this Saturday October 29 at 1:30 pm at Mount Douglas, and is also Senior Day for our graduating players.

Practice for the Varsity Team on Monday October 24th will start at 4:45 pm on the field.
