Top curlers from across Canada will be in Nova Scotia for the 2017 Canadian Mixed Curling Championships.
The BC team of Wes Craig, Kesa Van Osch, Miles Craig and Marika Van Osch will be vying for the title of Canadian Mixed Champions.
The team has a combined total of 93 years curling experience, and that experience includes stints at a Scotties Tournament of Hearts (Kesa Van Osch), the Canadian Junior Women’s Championship (Kesa and Marika Van Osch), the Canadian Mixed and Senior Championships (Wes Craig) and the Canadian Junior Men’s Championship (Miles Craig).
The team hails from Nanaimo and Shawnigan Lake and are representing Nanaimo Curling Centre and Kerry Park Curling Club.
Fourteen teams representing every province and territory will be competing in Yarmouth from Sunday, Nov. 13 to Saturday, Nov. 19.
The opening draws will be played at 7 p.m. Atlantic Time on Sunday night (Nov. 13).
From Monday through to Friday, draws are scheduled every day for 10 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. (all times Atlantic).
This will be the first time Yarmouth has hosted a national curling championship. Allwright said he expects the curlers will get a warm welcome to the area and will have fun in Yarmouth’s roaming patch zone.
