This past week, both the JV and Varsity Rams fell to their opponents. The JV Rams lost to Lord Tweedsmuir 29 to 0, while the Varsity were defeated by South Delta 36 to 13. This week is an opportunity to bounce back for both teams as the JV Rams square off against Terry Fox on Wednesday November 2 at 1:30 at Mount Douglas, while the Varsity Rams travel to Carson Graham on Friday November 4 for a 2:00 pm kickoff. Around every corner there is another opportunity to improve!
Varsity Game Summary
The Rams faced a well balanced and surging South Delta team, and fell by a score of 36 to 13. South Delta played a very strong and balanced game, won the crucial turnover battle and quarterback Michael Calvert played a heck of a game.
For Mount Douglas, Soren Hallschmid, playing his first game at linebacker for the Rams, and the ever dependable Quinn Jenish led the Rams defense with 8 tackles each, followed by newly appointed Captain Tyrese Hogue with 7 tackles. Isaiah Cardilicchia had 2 interceptions in the contest.
Ben Pierik was the leading Rams rusher with 104 yards followed by Josh Lucas with 73 yards. Josh also had 36 yards in receiving and a nice 90 yard kickoff return for a major. In total, Josh had 216 all purpose yards in yet another impressive game.
On a positive note, the Varsity Rams team was coached and challenged to put forth a 110% effort and focus on our special teams this week, and responded with a very solid and improved performance!
