Please join us at MacDonald Park (Victoria, BC) at 1pm on Saturday November 5th for some great Rugby and an even better cause. James Bay Athletic Association will be hosting the University of Victoria on Saturday, coupled with a charity fundraiser for Our Place Society. This by donation event called “Simple as Socks” encourages spectators to bring a pair of new or slightly used socks along with the customary amount of general admission. Socks are an item needed daily by the people at Our Place Society and as Victoria enters into it’s rainy winter socks are at an even higher demand. This fundraising event isn’t exclusive to socks as other winter items such as blankets, coats, scarves and cash donations will also be happily accepted. Come help cheer on James Bay and give back to the community making this event a success for all!
James Bay Athletic Association (JBAA), located at Macdonald Park in Victoria, British Columbia was formed in 1886 and is the oldest Canadian sports organization west of Montreal.
JBAA plays rugby from September through April. The club has two men’s rugby teams – Premier Men’s and 1st Division – Mini Rugby (For boys and Girls 6 to 12 years of age). Boys U-14, Girls U-14, Boys U-16 and Men U-20.

JBAA welcomes young men and women who enjoy team athletics, as well as social members who enjoy association with sport. We emphasize athletic excellence, integrity, playing for each other, and development of friendships within our JBAA family that, in many cases, last for a lifetime.
We own our own Clubhouse, located at 205 Simcoe Street in Victoria – a few blocks behind the BC Parliament Buildings and adjacent to MacDonald Park. This facility is the focal point for JBAA members and houses a social hall that is often rented for private and public community events.
