Lions to host 2016 CFL Western Semi-Final next Sunday

(Vancouver) As a result of this evening’s win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders and their subsequent second-place finish in the West Division, the BC Lions Football Club will host the Western SemiFinal versus the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at 1:30 pm on Sunday, November 13 at BC Place.

Finishing in second spot for just the third time in team history, the Lions previously hosted Western Semi-Finals in 1977 and 1986, both against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers with the Leos emerging victorious each time.

The last time the Lions and Blue Bombers met in the postseason was 2011, when the Leos captured their sixth Grey Cup title in front of a sold-out BC Place.

The winner of next week’s playoff game will advance to the Western Final versus the Calgary Stampeders slated for Sunday, November 20 at McMahon Stadium.
