MILL BAY, B.C. – Grayden Hohl scored twice to lead the surging Victoria Cougars to an 8-2 win over the Kerry Park Islanders on a rare Tuesday night game in Kerry Park.

With the win, Victoria (13-4-0-3) won its fifth straight game and moved into sole possession of first place in the South Island Division.

Owen Dalman, Tyler Pang, and Akila Sato-Gaudreau had a goal and two assists while Kenny Britton and Rick Takada scored once and added a helper.

Nailing the final nail in the coffin was Mitch Popp who scored the Cougars eighth goal from the blue line on a delayed penalty with 18.3 seconds remaining in regulation.

Kayden Peck scored twice for the Islanders (7-10-0-1).

Getting the start in net for Victoria was Justin Anderson who finished with 20 saves.

Rett Rook stopped 26-of-32 shots in a losing cause before being replaced by Tyson Duffe.  In relief, Duffe made 6-of-8 saves in just under eight minutes of work.

Kerry Park converted once on four power play opportunities.

Next game for the Cougars is Thursday, November 10 versus the Saanich Braves.  Game time at the Archie Browning Sports Centre, located at 1151 Esquimalt Road, is 7:00 p.m.
