Athletes from Victoria Special Olympics will have an opportunity to learn from some elite swimmers this Sunday (November 20th) at Crystal Pool (11:30 am-1 pm). Swimmers from the Victoria Masters are volunteering their time to coach the athletes in a special workshop aimed at preparations for their upcoming Special Olympics regional meet in February. This is the first of four workshops being put on by the Victoria Masters to help Victoria Special Olympics athletes – with a focus on helping them improve their strokes.

Victoria Special Olympics Swimming Head Coach Susan Simmons is excited about the opportunity for her athletes

“this swim camp provides our athletes with an incredible opportunity to learn from and swim with some of the top Masters swimmers in the country”

Some of the Victoria Special Olympics swimmers taking part in the camp are also preparing for the BC Special Olympics Summer Games set to take place in Kamloops in 2017.
