Victoria Cougars won their fourth game in a row after beating the Kerry Park Islanders

MILL BAY, B.C. – The Victoria Cougars won their fourth game in a row after beating the Kerry Park Islanders 5-1 on Saturday night.

Akila Sato-Gaudreau and Kenny Britton scored twice for Victoria who extended its lead over the second place Saanich Braves to five points in the South Island Division.

Also scoring for the Cougars was Tyler Vanuden.

Brandon Wilson replied with a shorthanded marker for Kerry Park.

Victoria led 1-0 after one period and 2-1 after two.

Justin Anderson stopped 19 shots to post his ninth win of the season while Islanders netminder countered with 48 saves.

The Cougars went 2-for-6 on the power play.  Kerry Park finished 0-for-4.

Elsewhere in the VIJHL, Dylan Paavola scored the game winner and Jackson Gibson added an insurance tally to lead the Comox Valley Glacier Kings past the Oceanside Generals 4-2.

Next game for Victoria is Thursday, November 24 versus the Nanaimo Buccaneers.  Game time at the Archie Browning Sports Centre, located at 1151 Esquimalt Road, is 7:00 p.m.
