Vancouver, B.C. – The Vancouver Giants are proud to announce that the hockey club has signed 2001-born forward Evan Patrician to a Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreement.
“As soon as I was offered the contract, I knew I wanted to become a Giant and join the Vancouver organization,” said Patrician. “It’s the right choice for me and my family, and I’m ecstatic right now.”
Patrician, a Calgary native, was taken by the Giants in the seventh round of the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft at 142nd overall. The 15-year-old is in the top 20 in scoring in the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League this season, tallying 16 points in 15 games for the Calgary Flames Midget AAA team.
“For a player to have the success that Evan has had as a 15-year-old playing Midget AAA, it’s a big accomplishment,” said General Manager Glen Hanlon. “He’s produced well offensively, and we’re happy that he has made the decision to join our hockey club.”
The G-Men will continue their US Division road trip on Friday night when they visit the Spokane Chiefs. Puck drop is set for 7:05pm.
