Winterhawks Win Fourth Straight 2-1 Over Spokane Wednesday


    The Winterhawks power play struck twice early, and Cole Kehler stopped 34 of 35 as the Portland Winterhawks (14-12-1-0) won their fourth straight 2-1 over the Spokane Chiefs (10-10-4-1) in Spokane Wednesday.


    The Winterhawks’ power play scored twice in the first seven minutes, with goals from 17 year-olds Cody Glass and Ryan Hughes. Glass now has 38 points on the season to lead the Winterhawks, and extended his point streak to seven games with the goal.
    Winterhawks starting goaltender Cole Kehler won his sixth consecutive start, turning aside 34 of 35 shots. The 19 year-old Kehler has sparkled in his last six starts, posting a 2.32 GAA and .936 save percentage in that time.
