The Victoria Cougars have added goaltender Liam McCloskey to their roster.

McCloskey, 18, began the season with the Prince George Spruce Kings (BCHL) before getting traded to the Whitecourt Wolverines (AJHL) at the end of September.

In one season and a bit, McCloskey posted a 9-21-1 record, a 4.21 goals against average, a .876 save percentage, and one shutout in 38 games for the Spruce Kings.

Prior to joining Prince George, McCloskey was part of the Vancouver North East Chiefs that won the BCMML Championship in 2014-15.

McCloskey appeared in 11 games for the Wolverines where he compiled a 6-4-1 record, a 3.05 goals against average, and a .895 save percentage.

Two days ago, the Victoria Cougars traded 18-year-old goaltender Justin Anderson to the Peninsula Panthers in exchange for 18-year-old defenseman Chase O’Keefe.

Next game for Victoria is Sunday, December 4 versus the Kerry Park Islanders.  Game time at the Archie Browning Sports Centre, located at 1151 Esquimalt Road, is 1:30 p.m.
