Prince George,  B.C. – The NHL’s Buffalo Sabres have reassigned defenceman Brendan Guhle (1997 – Sherwood Park, AB) to the Prince George Cougars.

One week ago today Guhle was called up to the NHL on an emergency basis by Buffalo and made an excellent first impression at the highest level. In three games with the Sabres Guhle averaged 16:21 of ice-time and was a +1. The Sabres went 1-1-1-0 with Guhle in the lineup.

Guhle was acquired by the Cougars on November 18th in a trade with the Prince Albert Raiders and has notched three goals in his first four games in a Cougars uniform.  In 19 games this season (with both Prince Albert and Prince George) Guhle has five goals, two assists and 10 penalty minutes.

The B.C. Division leading Cougars continue their season long seven game home stand tonight when they host their 2016 playoff rivals, the Seattle Thunderbirds. It’s game one of a weekend double-header. Don’t forget that tomorrow night is the Cougars annual Teddy Bear Toss game!
