A holiday gift came early for the University of Saskatchewan Huskie men’s volleyball team.
The Huskies are proud to announce Mason Scott and Jordan Silzer as recruits to the squad for the 2017-18 season. Scott, a 6-7 right side, and Silzer, a 6-7 middle, are members of the Huskie Volleyball Club and are important pieces to the Saskatchewan team at the Canada Games in the summer of 2017.
“I am extremely pleased to have Jordan and Mason commit to our program,” said head coach Brian Gavlas, who is currently on a professional leave of absence. “They will be very important pieces of the future for Huskie volleyball. They are very skilled for their size and have had quality coaching that will enable them to make an immediate impact on our team. They are good students and excellent young men.”
Scott plays for Mark Kosier of the Oxbow Prairie Knights and will be studying in the College of Agriculture. Silzer is a Saskatoon Centennial Collegiate Charger playing under Adam Ewart and will study in the College of Engineering.
The Huskies will host BUDO International University from Japan on December 29 and 30 at the PAC in non-conference matches. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. The Huskies resume Canada West action on January 6 on the road.
