CANADA’S NATIONAL WOMEN’S TEAM DECEMBER SERIES: TEAM CANADA PLAYER UPDATE

CALGARY, Alta. – Hockey Canada has named goaltender Emerance Maschmeyer (Bruderheim, Alta./Calgary, CWHL) to Team Canada, as a replacement for Ann-Renée Desbiens (La Malbaie, Que./University of Wisconsin, WCHA), who left the opening December Series game against the United States in Plymouth, Mich., due to a lower-body injury.

 

Maschmeyer, 22, has won two silver medals with Canada’s National Women’s Team at the IIHF Women’s World Championship (2015, 2016) and appeared between the pipes at the 4 Nations Cup in 2015 and 2016.

 

Team Canada faces the United States in the final game of its December Series at 7 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT  in Sarnia, Ont., on Monday at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena.
