Swift Current, SK – Friday, December 30th marks the 30th anniversary of the 1986 bus crash that claimed the lives of four Swift Current Bronco players Trent Kresse, Brent Ruff, Chris Mantyka and Scott Kruger.
Led by Bill Lee, close family friend of the Kruger family, a monument unveiling will take place on Friday morning at the site of the crash. Families, survivors, alumni, team, staff and board members will be granted the first opportunity to view the monument privately, followed by viewing opportunities to the general public and media directly afterwards at 12:00pm.
A prayer by Bronco Chaplain Nathan Wiebe will occur at the site followed by a short program and then viewing for everyone in attendance.
Beginning at 5:30pm, the Saskatchewan Hall of Fame will host a pregame reception for families and alumni heading towards game time.
Before the Broncos and visiting Saskatoon Blades clash, a special Four Bronco remembrance presentation will begin at 7:00pm and consist of a video presentation, families receiving commemorative gifts on ice, a ceremonial puck drop and a moment of silence. Both the Broncos and the Blades will be on the blue lines throughout the presentation.
All fans will receive a commemorative four leaf clover pin courtesy of Living Sky Casino. Fans are encouraged to arrive early at the Credit Union i-Plex as the pre-game presentation will commence at 7:00pm sharp.
