Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced the Week 17 edition of the CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2016-17 season.  The weekly rankings of the CHL’s Top-10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.

The Regina Pats extend their rule as CHL Top 10 leaders, having now been ranked for 16 weeks this season. This past weekend, the Pats dropped a tightly-contested decision to the Tri-City Americans before bouncing back with a pair of wins over the Prince Albert Raiders. Next up, the Pats host the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday.

The Everett Silvertips slide one spot in the rankings this week, falling from third to fourth. After shutting out the Kamloops Blazers, the Silvertips dropped an overtime decision to the Seattle Thunderbirds. A victory over the Kelowna Rockets followed but the Thunderbirds got the best of the Silvertips once again on Tuesday. Everett will get another crack at Seattle this Friday. This marks the 14th week the Silvertips have been ranked among the CHL’s best.

The Prince George Cougars move up the charts from 10th to eighth this week. Winners of four consecutive games, the Cougars have knocked off the Medicine Hat Tigers, Lethbridge Hurricanes, Calgary Hitmen and Portland Winterhawks over the past week. They’ll look to make it five in a row when hosting the Winterhawks Wednesday evening. This represents the 16th week the Cougars have been mentioned amidst the nation’s top teams.

Rounding out WHL representation, the Medicine Hat Tigers earn an honourable mention in this week’s edition of the CHL Top 10.
