San Diego Sockers defeat Soles de Sonora

In a fun filled action packed contest before a crowd of 5250 looked on the San Diego Sockers on led 1-0 on a goal by Max Toulette (his 13th of the season) after the first period, in the second period on goals by Brian Farber (2nd of the season), and Reymundo Reja (His 1st goal of the season) and Matthew Claire (His 10th of the season) along with 3 assists on the goals by Kraig Chiles (His 9th assist) who became the Sockers All Time Leading Goal Scorer with 305 and the fifth goal by Brandon Escoto (His 8th of the season) jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Soles De Sonora scored 2 goals in the 4th quarter by Uzi Tayou and Raymond Espinosa to make the final score in favor of the Sockers and tonight’s win has snapped the Soles 10 game winning streak snapped.

San Diego Sockers Head Coach Phil Selvaggio on the victory:  “it was a big win Soles de Sonora is carring a 10-1 record coming in the season they are on a roll and eliminated us out of the playoffs last year a big win.”  “Chris Toth kept us in throughout the game but in the first half we didn’t play well contributed great for us he made incredibl acrobatic saves while keeping our squad in the game for the big win.” ” Kraig Chiles also contributed well for us with his 3 assists which were part of the 5 goals we had other chances that we didn’t finish this was action packed game and to attract our fans of 5,250.”  “Tacoma is currently in first place in our division (Pacific) they have 3 losses and we have 4 losses we are right there with this win to be tied with them for the tiebreaker for us to be first in our division”

With the win the Sockers improve to 9-4 and will travel to Eastern Washington to take on the First Place Tacoma Stars in a Pacific Division soccer match in the Tacoma Dome.
