VANCOUVER, BC – The United Soccer League (USL) announced on Friday that Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2) will kick off their third season on Saturday, March 25 on the road at LA Galaxy II. The league also announced that WFC2 will host their home opener against Seattle Sounders FC 2 on Saturday, April 8. The complete season schedule is expected to be announced in the coming days.

WFC2, the club’s official USL affiliate, will continue to play the majority of their 2017 home matches at the University of British Columbia’s Thunderbird Stadium. Remaining home matches will be played at Langley’s McLeod Athletic Park. Venue for the home opener will be confirmed following the announcement of the full season schedule.

The ‘Caps USL side enters 2017 coming off of a successful 2016 season that saw the team make a playoff run to the Western Conference Final. As a key piece of the club’s development structure, four players from WFC2 earned MLS contracts with Whitecaps FC last year: Alphonso Davies, Brett Levis, Kyle Greig, and Spencer Richey.

Next week, WFC2 will begin preseason training.
