WHITE EARNS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING STANDARD IN 3000M

SEATTLE – Trinity Western’s Declan White (South Surrey, B.C.) earned the qualifying standard for the U SPORTS national championship in his first 3000m race of the season, posting a time of 8:06.39 to finish 13th overall at the University of Washington Invitational Saturday at Dempsey Indoor.

White was less than half of a second off of the Spartans 3000m record, which he owns (8:05.94), as put together an impressive performance in a very deep field.

Joel De Schiffart (Nanaimo, B.C.) finished 35th overall in the 3000m in 8:23.27. The Spartans return to competition next weekend at Washington State University’s Cougar Indoor Feb. 3-4. UW Invitational
