Joachim Blichfeld Scores in OT to Seal Hawks’ Fourth Straight Win Tuesday

Joachim Blichfeld scored in overtime to give the Portland Winterhawks (26-21-1-2) a 4-3 victory over the Everett Silvertips (30-9-8-2) Tuesday at Veterans Memorial Coliseum, their fourth consecutive win.

Blichfeld, tonight’s overtime hero, also picked up an assist in the win for his second straight multi-point night. The Danish import has picked up ten points in the past seven games, including back-to-back game-winners.

With their goals tonight, both Colton Veloso and Evan Weinger extended their point streaks to four games apiece. Defenseman Caleb Jones finished the night with two assists, while both Cody Glass and Henri Jokiharju each added a helper after returning from yesterday’s Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects game in Quebec City.

The Hawks continue a busy stretch tomorrow night when they host the Kamloops Blazers at the Moda Center. The team will then travel to Everett for a road contest Friday night, returning to Portland Saturday for the popular Banner Bank Mascot Night.
