VICTORIA, B.C. — The best men’s baseball teams in Canada are coming to Victoria, and now baseball fans can secure their spot at Royal Athletic Park.
Tournament passes are on sale through the Victoria HarbourCats office, 1814 Vancouver Street or by phone at 778-265-0327. With a total of 26 games on the schedule, a handful to be played at Lambrick Park, baseball fans will get to feast on more great action at RAP.
The HarbourCats bid on and successfully attracted the 2017 and 2018 men’s nationals, a first for the city of Victoria. With up to five games a day at RAP, featuring teams vying for the coveted Canadian championship, the action will be intense.
“The committee has been working hard for months now, and this is the first real public offering — getting the tournament passes up for sale,” said Gary Beyer, co-chair of the tournament.
The committee is selling tournament passes for the Diamond Club (field-level) seats and Main Grandstand (Section 10) areas only, and the full tournament pass cost is $150. Without a tournament pass, spectators will not be able to sit in those prime locations.
Day-pass and single-game ticket pricing will be announced later, when Baseball Canada releases the full tournament schedule.
“This is another affordable baseball event, just like HarbourCats games, and that’s how we structured this to keep that consistency for people who love coming to RAP,” said Beyer, who owns Tesseract Computers on Broughton.
“We know families, seniors and others will enjoy this, and will want to secure their seats. Keeping this affordably-priced was important to the committee.”
