Players from the Victoria Royals will take their skills from the ice to the floor as they join forces with Victoria Special Olympics Floor Hockey players in the annual friendly match on Monday February 6th.

The athletes have been training hard in preparation for the Region 6 Special Olympics BC Floor Hockey Tournament taking place in Comox later this month. Head Coach Kyle Eriksen says it is a fantastic opportunity for the athletes to take a break from their training and have some fun:

“It is something that both groups of athletes seem to enjoy and really highlights how sport can bring people together. It is great for our athletes to meet some local heroes and I hope the Royals leave maybe meeting new heroes for themselves”

The event takes place this Monday from 6-8 pm in the gymnasium at Ecole Victor-Brodeur in Esquimalt (637 Head Street).
