SEATTLE – Trinity Western’s Regan Yee (South Hazelton, B.C.) moved to the top of the U SPORTS individual rankings in the 3000m, as she posted a time of 9:07.59 to finish 11th overall at the University of Washington’s Husky Classic Saturday at Dempsey Indoor.
Yee, who already sits atop the 1500m U SPORTS rankings, earned automatic qualification for the national championships with her 3000m performance. Yee’s result Saturday was nearly 30 seconds faster than the time that she clocked, 9:37.12, in winning gold at last year’s national championships. Fellow Spartan Lisa Brooking (Orillia, Ont.) was previously atop the 3000m national rankings with a time of 9:24.38.
In the 800m, Meg Harradine posted a season’s best 2:14.68, bettering her previous mark by almost four seconds, to finish 41st overall.
The Spartans will remain in Seattle for the UW Open Sunday.
