VICTORIA—The nation’s high-performance triathletes will be swimming, biking and running in new duds on the road to 2020, thanks to a new partnership established with PROJECT Clothing and Triathlon Canada.
PROJECT, an Australian-owned clothing brand synonymous with team and individual summer sports, has inked a four-year deal to supply all racing and outerwear apparel for the Canadian National Triathlon Team.
“The margins between finishing on and off the podium are so small in high performance sport so we are excited to partner with an elite apparel provider in order to access the most critical resources our athletes require for optimal training, and to deliver golden performances,” said Kim Van Bruggen, Chief Executive Officer, Triathlon Canada. “PROJECT is a proven performer, and we look forward to having them with us, once again in the Triathlon Canada Nation, to support our team’s pursuit of excellence.”
A custom team wear partner with many high-performance sport teams around the world, PROJECT brings extensive retail and sporting experience to the Triathlon Canada Nation, having successfully delivered technical clothing to more than one dozen of the world’s top summer sports including: running, cycling, golf, volleyball, swimming, soccer, rugby and basketball.
Over the term of the sponsorship, PROJECT will provide race and warm-up tracksuits to Canada’s high-performance triathletes for all international events and major games. Triathlon Canada’s age group team of athletes will also sport a PROJECT race suit and parade kit while representing the country at World Championship events.
“We are very pleased to partner with Triathlon Canada and its incredibly committed group of athletes. PROJECT has extensive experience working with the sport of triathlon, including the Canadians over the last two years, so we understand what it takes to be successful,” said Graeme Clarke, Managing Director,PROJECTClothing.“We look forward to working closely with Triathlon Canada to promote the sport across the country, and to support participants regardless of levels to achieve their very best performances.”
PROJECT will be well represented at each of Triathlon Canada’s sanctioned events, and will work with the governing body for the sport in Canada to create a year-round online merchandise program. PROJECT will also actively work with retailers throughout Canada to sell products with Triathlon Canada benefiting from retail sales throughout the country.
