Oklahoma Baptist overtook the Vikes on Day 2 after finishing Day 1 one stroke back from Victoria in second place. The Vikes had an excellent opening day, and it took an even stronger Day 2 from the eventual winners to pass them.
Fourth man Dalton Rhoden was the key to victory for Baptist, putting up a three-over-par 73 to end up as the difference.
Rowe and Griffin entered the second and final day in a tie for first place after shooting a seven-under-par 133 through two rounds on Day 1. Rowe closed out the tournament by shooting 70 while Griffin continued his strong play with a two-over-par 72.
Without a fifth man due to injury, the Vikes didn’t have any room for mistakes. But third and fourth men Jacob Hayes and Brandon McManus continued to do their part, shooting a five-over-par 75 and seven-over-par 77, respectively to close out the event.
It was just the performance that the Vikes needed, as William Jessup and Marymount College finished tied for third two strokes behind the Canadian runners-up.
Next up for the Vikes is the Battle at Primm in Nevada from March 21-22, where they’ll have a chance to win their fourth tournament of the year before heading to conference championships in April.
