Hawks Spank Prince George Cougars In Game One


The Portland Winterhawks earned a 4-2 win over the Prince George Cougars in Game 1 of the first-round playoff series at CN Centre Friday.


Winterhawks captain Keegan Iverson netted the game-winner in Prince George, while Colton Veloso iced this balanced victory with an empty net goal and just over thirty seconds remaining in the third period. For goaltender Cole Kehler, it was his first career WHL playoff win tonight, extending his winning streak to nine games dating back to the regular season.


Game 2 of the series will be played on Sunday in Prince George at 5 pm.
