Victoria hosts Everett for Games 3 & 4 this week with series tied 1-1


Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals will face the Everett Silvertips in Games 3 and 4 of Round 1 of the 2017 WHL Playoff presented by Gillis Plumbing, Dodd’s Furniture, 2 Burley Men, Empire Donuts, and League and Williams. Game 3 is slated for Tuesday, March 28th, while Game 4 will be played on Wednesday, March 29th. Puck drop for both contests is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.


EXPERIENCE COUNTS: The Royals’ and Everett Silvertips’ rosters have a combined 635 games worth of playoff experience between the two teams. Victoria holds the edge as their roster has 370 playoff games played. Tyler Soy leads the team with 40 games played in the post-season. Meanwhile, the Silvertips’ roster has played in a total of 265 playoff games, with Aaron Irving’s 34 post-season contests leading the club.


RECORD SETTERS: After Saturday’s contest, Royals’ forwards Jack Walker and Tyler Soy both set franchise playoff records. Walker passed former Royal Brandon Magee’s all-time franchise playoff mark for assists (17) points (31). Meanwhile, Soy surpassed both Walker and Magee for the franchise’s all-time playoff record in goals (14). Walker has taken part in 38 post-season games from 2013 to 2017, while Soy has participated in 40 contests from 2013 to 2017. Magee meanwhile, played in 27 games between 2011 and 2015 an recorded 29 points (13g-16a).
