Vancouver, BC – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has signed forward Griffen Molino to a two-year, entry-level contract.
“Griffen is a competitive two-way forward with good speed and defensive instincts,” said General Manager Jim Benning. “He’s made significant contributions to Western Michigan’s success over two seasons and we’re excited to have him join our organization and take the next step in his development.”
Molino, 23, appeared in 40 games for the Western Michigan University Broncos this season ranking second in scoring with 33 points (15-18-33) en route to the NCAA East Regional Semifinals. In his freshman season in 2015.16, the 6-0, 185-pound forward led the Broncos in scoring with 25 points (11-14-25) in 36 games. He was also named to the NCHC All-Academic team.
Prior to collegiate hockey, the Trenton, Michigan native played two seasons in the USHL with Sioux Falls and Muskegon, registering 103 points (26-77-103) in 116 games.
