Kamloops, BC – After a 1-3 start to their season, the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Baseball team is back on the field this week for a home and home series against the Okanagan College Coyotes. The Coyotes got swept by the Vancouver Island Mariners last weekend and are 3-5 on the year.
The first two games will be on Saturday, April 8th in Kelowna. The next two will be the following day (Sunday, April 9th) in Kamloops at Norbrock Stadium. Game times are 3pm and 6pm for both days.
“We need to come out and play much better defensively,” says infielder Josh Hillis, “and if we get our bats going again, we’ll be just fine.”
“I think the energy on the bench needs to be there. We strive when we have more energy and all come together as a unit,” says rookie Vance Fode, “If we take care of the baseball and have lots of energy we should be able to take four this weekend.” Fode was one of the WolfPack’s offensive leaders last weekend by going 5/11 and hitting two homeruns.
The ‘Pack didn’t have the opening weekend they envisioned. This is a huge series with OC upcoming up and the team is looking forward to it and to coming out with four wins and back to above .500.
