SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto today announced the following medical update on Mariners right-handed pitcher Felix Hernandez and outfielder Mitch Haniger.
Haniger and Hernandez were placed on the 10-day disabled list on Wednesday, April 26. Both players underwent testing today in Seattle, and were examined by Mariners Medical Director Dr. E. Edward Khalfayan.
Hernandez was diagnosed with bursitis in his right shoulder. He is expected to miss three to four weeks.
Haniger was diagnosed with a grade 2 strain of his right oblique muscle. He is expected to miss three to four weeks.
