Caleb Kueber continues to roll along for the Intermediate Rock

The Jr. and Intermediate Shamrocks both continue to roll along at home, the Intermediates coming away with a 12-6 win over the visiting Maple Ridge Burrards and the Jr. Shamrocks squeaking out a 16-14 decision over the Langley Thunder Saturday at the Q Centre.

 

In the Intermediate game, the Burrards had been undefeated with a record of 4-0 coming into the Q Centre and it was a hard-fought contest.  The Shamrocks scored the first 3 goals of the game and held onto a 5-2 lead after the first period, stretching it out to 8-4 after 2 and outscoring the visitors 4-2 in the final period to take the 2 points and improve their record to 3-2.  Unofficially it was Caleb Kueber leading Victoria’s offense with the hat trick and 4 assists.  Brody Black had 3 goals and 3 assists while Brayden Brown added 2 goals and 3 helpers.  Other goals came from Thomas Vaesen, Brayden McQuarrie, Josh Pickford and Joel Lioudakis with Jackson Boyd adding 5 assists.  Ryan Atkinson got the win in goal.

The Jr. Shamrocks, by comparison were down by a goal after 20 minutes but got things tied up 8-8 at the end of the second.  The third was a goalfest with 14 goals scored in total, 8 by the Shamrocks.  The Rocks were led offensively by their captain, Cole Pickup who had 4 goals and 4 assists.  Brad McCulley had the hat trick and 2 helpers while Jake Campbell and Preston each scored twice.  Singles came from Guy Cullen, Tyler Mace, Nick Murray, Daniel Smith, and Nick Preston.  Brian Robb contributed 6 assists. And Zack Homer had a strong game in the faceoff circle, winning 15 of 24.

 

Both teams return to the Q Centre next weekend.  Saturday, May 20 at 1:30 the Intermediate Shamrocks will take on the Richmond Roadrunners while the Jr. Shamrocks host the Coquitlam Adanacs Sunday at 2:00 pm.  Please note the earlier start time for that game.
