The Intermediate and Jr. ‘A’ Shamrocks both had home games Saturday at the Q Centre with mixed results. The Intermediates pulled off a 20-12 victory over the visiting Langley Thunder to avenge an earlier 10-9 overtime loss. The Shamrocks held period leads of 8-4 and 16-10 on their way to the win.
Caleb Kueber led Victoria’s offense with 6 goals and 1 assist but Brody Black led in the points department with 4 goals and 4 helpers. Brayden Brown had the hat trick with 2 assists Seven other players had singles and goaltender Ryan Atkinson picked up the win and added 3 assists. The win improves the Intermediate Shamrocks’ record to 6-2 good for 12 points and a 5-way tie for top spot with other games in progress over the weekend. The Intermediates are back home to face their island rivals, the Nanaimo Timbermen in a Tuesday night game. Start time is 8:00 pm at the Q Centre.
