Both the Intermediate and Junior ‘A’ Shamrocks picked up wins at the Q Centre Saturday.  The Intermediates defeated the Burnaby Lakers 15-7 in the matinee.  The Lakers are still looking for their first win of the season but they played a hard-hitting contest against the Rocks.  It was Thomas Vaesen leading Victoria’s offense with 5 goals unofficially.  Caleb Kueber and Josh Pickford each had 2 goals and 2 assists, Brayden Brown had the hat trick and 3 helpers with Riley Condon, Jackson Boyd, Brody Black adding singles.  A.J. Jensen went the distance in goal and picked up the win.  The Shamrocks are on the mainland Sunday to face the Coquitlam Adanacs and travel to Nanaimo Thursday to take on the Timbermen followed with a June 11 date in Delta.  Next home game for the Intermediate Shamrocks is in three weeks as they will host the Delta Islanders on Saturday, June 24 at 1:30 pm.


Meanwhile the Junior Shamrocks put an end to a 5-game losing streak with a hard-fought win over the visiting Port Coquitlam Saints.  Spencer Erwin had a stellar outing between the pipes, making 47 saves to get the win.  Leading the offense was Brad McCulley with a pair of goals while Nick Preston added a goal and 4 assists.  Nick Murray, Daniel Smith, Jake Campbell, Skyler Wilson and Cole Pickup added singles and Brtaylen Lumb chipped in 3 helpers.  The Jr. Rocks are also on the road Sunday as they travel to Delta to take on the Islanders.  They return to the Q Centre next Sunday at 2:00 pm to host the New Westminstrer Salmonbellies.
