The Nanaimo Timbermen Intermediate A Lacrosse team hosted the Victoria Shamrocks last night at Frank Crane Arena. It was a hard fought battle between these two island rivals.

Noteable for the Timbermen was the energetic play of second year Landon Underwood and rookie John Etzel both of the Peninsula minor system.

Etzel contributed a great goal on a feed from goalie Colin Jeffrey and also added two assists and Underwood scored a nice 4×4 goal and added an assist as well.

The play of these two sparked the Timbermen to hold a lead for much of the game. In the end a strong Shamrock team fought back for a 14-11 win but Nanaimo is looking forward to more spirited performances from Underwood and Etzel.

A third Peninsula rookie Justin Reedeker also had a strong game contributing 2 goals. Quite the Peninsula connection !
