The Jr. Shamrocks extended their winning streak to 4 games with a hard-fought 10-6 victory over the visiting New Westminster Salmonbellies at the Q Centre Sunday afternoon. It was just New Westminster’s second loss of the season. Leading the way offensively for the Shamrocks was team captain Cole Pickup with 4 goals and 5 assists. Skyler Wilson had the hat trick while Nick Preston added 2 goals and 4 assists. Marshal King, Brad McCulley, Griffin Wilson, Gabe Harman and Zac Christianson had the other Victoria goals. Spencer Erwin had another strong outing in goal making 31 saves. The Shamrocks are on the road next Sunday to take on the first place Coquitlam Adanacs and return to the Q Centre on Saturday, June 24 when they will host the Langley Thunder. Game time is 5:00 pm.
The intermediate Shamrocks also collected a win today as they defeated the Delta Islanders on the road by a 14-10 score. The result leaves the Rocks tied with the Maple Ridge Burrards atop the league standings, 4 points ahead of Coquitlam and Langley. The Intermediate Shamrocks have a rare weekend off next weekend and return to the Q Centre on Saturday, June 24 to face Delta at 1:30 pm.
