LIMA, Peru, June 18, 2017 – Canada swept Trinidad & Tobago 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-19) in Pool B of the XVI Women’s Volleyball Pan American Cup at the Eduardo Dibos Coliseum in Lima on Sunday afternoon.

The victory evened Canada’s win-loss record at 1-1 (after a 3-1 loss to Cuba yesterday) while Trinidad & Tobago dropped to 0-2.

The Canadians outscored their opponents 16-7 in blocks and 7-3 in aces while committing 15 unforced errors to 29 by the Trinidadians.

Jennifer Cross of Scarborough, Ontario, had 11 points, including seven blocks, while Kyla Richey (Roberts Creek, BC) and Lucy Charuk (Tsawwassen, BC) added 10 and nine points, respectively, in the victory with Charuk accredited with five blocks.

Sinead Jack and Krystle Esdelle each had nine points for Trinidad & Tobago.
