Kamloops, BC – The Kamloops Blazers announced today that they have signed 15-year-old defenseman Trevor Thurston to a WHL standard player agreement.

Thurston was selected by the Blazers in the fourth round of the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft. He was the first defenseman selected by the Blazers.

“Trevor is a strong two-way defenseman,” said General Manager Stu MacGregor. “He is a competitive player who plays the game hard. We look forward to watching his progress over the upcoming season and welcome Trevor to our hockey club.”

In 20 games with the Delta Hockey Academy Bantam Prep Green team, Thurston had nine goals, 11 assists and 20 points during the 2016-17 season.

The Delta native will play this upcoming season at the Delta Hockey Academy.

The Blazers have signed their top three selections from the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft after inking forward Josh Pillar and goaltender Dylan Garand.
