(Vancouver) The BC Lions begin the 2017 regular season with a critical opening night clash with the Edmonton Eskimos presented by SaveOnFoods. Kids 12 and under can see the Lions all summer long for just $5 per game.

To help kickoff the 2017 season, the club is very pleased to welcome hip-hop recording artist YONAS who will perform at halftime.

With sunny skies and warm temperatures in the forecast for this weekend, fans are encouraged to head down to the game in plenty of time to enjoy the Nissan Tailgate Party on the Terry Fox Plaza. In addition to the unique tailgating experience that only football offers, Lions fans can meet-up in the beer garden and enjoy featured menu specials of sliders and bratwurst. Early-bird food and beverage pricing is also in effect inside BC Place from 6:00 to 6:30 pm.
Game Preview

Led by one the CFL’s rising stars Jonathon Jennings, the Lions come into Saturday’s tilt after a convincing 42-10 preseason win over Saskatchewan last week. This one counts in the standings however, so the young pivot will need another solid outing against the Green and Gold.

On defence, linebacker Solomon Elimimian leads a solid group of veterans against Edmonton quarterback Mike Reilly. Look for an attacking style of play keen on bringing plenty of pressure to the quarterback.

The Lions and Eskimos split their two meetings last season and while it’s just game one of 18, the battle for playoff spots West Division of the CFL will most certainly last well into late October and the Lions need to take full advantage of dome field in first game of the season.
