It was an all-island battle at the Q Centre Tuesday night as the Nanaimo Timbermen came into town for the first of 2 visits and it was the Shamrocks coming on the winning end of a 16-13 score.

The Rocks held period leads of 7-4 and 11-8 on the way to the victory.  It was a typical hard-fought Victoria-Nanaimo game with Brad McCulley leading Victoria’s attack with 5 goals and 5 assists.  Cole Pickup kept up his scoring pace with 6 goals and 1 helper while Braylon Lumb and Skyler Wilson each chipped in a pair, Nick Preston added a goal and 5 assists and Marshal King had another strong game with 6 assists.

Spencer Erwin kicked out 40 of the 53 shots he faced to pick up the win and Zack Homer dominated the faceoff circle winning 21 of 30.  Next up is a rematch next Tuesday at 8:00 at the Q Centre followed by the Jr. Shamrocks’ final regular season home game on Saturday, July 8 at 5:00 when they will take on the Delta Islanders.
