Luke Lockhart and Derek Dun Sign at UBC

Derek Dun Former Cowichan Valley Capitals and the Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL

VANCOUVER – The UBC Thunderbirds men’s hockey program is proud to announce that Luke Lockhart and Derek Dun have both signed contracts to join the HC Kunlun Red Star (Beijing) organization of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The Red Star are entering their second season in the KHL and are coached by former Vancouver Canucks head coach and Stanley Cup champion, Mike Keenan.

Lockhart is a Burnaby, BC native who was a top six forward for UBC last year. He played his junior hockey with the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Dun is a Surrey, BC native who was the starting goalie for UBC in 2016-17 and played the previous two seasons for Northern Michigan in the NCAA. He has also played for the Cowichan Valley Capitals and the Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL.
