VICTORIA, BC – It’s a busy week once again for Highlanders FC (3W-0D-7L), who travel to face Sounders U-23 (5W-1D-5L) on July 7 in Premier Development League (PDL) action, before returning to Centennial Stadium for their match versus TSS FC Rovers (2W-3D-7L), July 9 at 2:00 p.m.

Victoria will be looking to cause problems for the third-place Sounders, who bested their Cascadia opponent by a slim 1-0 margin back on May 26 at Centennial Stadium. Sounders have all to play for as the PDL season enters its final weeks of competition, with a spot on the playoffs on the line. The Highlanders will look to play spoiler and start their weekend off with a positive result south of the border.

The Highlanders then return to action at Centennial Stadium versus the expansion side Rovers, who they met just under two weeks ago at Swangard Stadium for a pair of matches. Both teams walked away from that weekend with three points to their name, following a 1-0 Highlander win on Friday and 3-1 Rovers win that Sunday.

Sunday’s match will determine the winner of the 2017 Juan de Fuca Plate, the supporter-driven competition awarded to the top PDL club in British Columbia. TSS holds the advantage o aggregate entering Sunday’s fixture, with supporters from both clubs adding to what is expected to be a terrific atmosphere. Victoria was the last club to hoist the Plate, after defeating Vancouver Whitecaps in 2014.

Friday’s match versus Sounders U-23 kicks off at 8:00 p.m. PST., while Sunday’s match at Centennial Stadium kicks off at 2:00 p.m. PST.
