It was a tough weekend for the Jr. Shamrocks as they dropped the first 2 games of their best-of-five semi final series against the Coquitlam Adanacs.  They put forth a strong performance Saturday on the mainland, dropping the opening game 14-10.  Down 4-2 and 9-5 by periods they kept pace in the final period with 5 goals but fell a little short.  Marshal King continued his outstanding play with 6 points on 2 goals and 4 assists.  Brad McCulley had the hat trick, David Byrne chipped in a pair of goals with singles coming from Daniel Smith, Braylon Lumb and Nick Preston who also had 3 assists.

In game 2 Sunday at the Q Centre, the Rocks held a 3-1 lead after the first period before the Adanacs put their pedal to the metal, scoring all 6 goals in the middle period and coming away with a 14-5 victory.  Leading the way offensively for the Shamrocks was Braylon Lumb with a pair of goals and one assist while Marshal King chipped in 4 assists.  Nick Preston, Cameron Garlin and Skyler Wilson had the other Shamrocks goals.  Will Kinnaird suffered both losses in goal, facing 52 shots Sunday.  Game 3 is scheduled for next Saturday in Coquitlam, a 2:00 pm start.

The Intermediate Shamrocks meanwhile ended their regular season with a 13-10 loss to the Maple Ridge Burrards on the mainland.  They will move on to the playoff round, finishing in second place.  With some scores still to come in, it looks like an all-island match-up against the Nanaimo Timbermen but final results and playoff dates still to be announced.
