Just a day after it was announced that a fee has been agreed with AS Monaco for Benjamin Mendy, Manchester City have announced the signing of Danilo Luiz da Silva from Real Madrid.
Danilo is a versatile player who can play on both flanks equally well and will provide plenty of options to Pep Guardiola in the coming season. This signing is fairly similar to the one Guardiola made at Barcelona when he signed Adriano Correia from Sevilla.
Pep is assembling his squad before the Premier League opener in August against Brighton Albion as he’s managed to bring in five new players and one more impending arrival for a total fee of €210 million.
Aleksandar Kolarov left the club to join AS Roma yesterday for a reported fee of €5 million which takes the departure fees to a total of around €40 million. City job is not done yet on both departments though and we can expect more players to sign and leave the club before the transfer window closes.
